There are many types of frogs in Diablo 4. Most of them are fine, but the ghost frogs are literally out of their minds.
In the current Season 7 of Diablo 4, the season theme of witchcraft may cause you to get a frog as a pet.
The barbarian has a build centered around the skills Leap and Earthquake, which is also known in the community as the Frog-Leap Barbarian.
The amphibians in question today, however, are the ghost frogs. They are supposed to show you the way to an activity, but are currently not really doing their job.

What’s really behind it?
Okay, all jokes aside. The ghost frogs will actually lead you to groups of enemies, which you then have to defeat. Do this three times and you’ll receive a Ghastly Gift, of which you can then collect ten and exchange them at the Tree of Whispers for a crate.
So the frog hopping in circles is most likely a bug.Reddit user sly_blade confirms that the same thing happened to him.
Another user suspects that the randomly chosen point on the map where the frog is supposed to lead the player is outside of the player’s reach.
So in MrBluntsw0rth’s case, the frog’s goal is exactly where the tree is. But the frog can’t get there, so it happily jumps in circles.
By the way, Season 7 was changed by two weeks, so there is currently a goblin event in Diablo 4 to pass the time. Hopefully their sense of direction is better than that of the frogs.
