When does Season 1 of Black Ops 6 start?
You don’t have to wait much longer for the first season to start. On November 14, 2024, Black Ops 6 will get a big content patch that brings the new content and Battle Pass into the game.
New map for Warzone: Area 99 Resurgence
Currently, the playlists from Modern Warfare 3 are still running in Warzone, but that will change from mid-Novemberwith Area 99 Resurgence The new map borrows a bit from the aesthetics of Nuketown, so you can expect retrofuturistic decor with lots of… round architecture. You can see it here quite well:
Area 99 can be played in Resurgence mode, the Warzone offshoot with respawns and co. At the same time, this update also marks the switch from Warzone to the Black Ops 6 engine, so you can use Omnimovement and all the other new moves and maneuvers from then on.
New map for regular multiplayer: Nuketown
The famous Nuketown map will return on November 1, 2024 – but this time as a remaster. Treyarch is preserving all the strengths of the original, including an almost identical layout, but the look has been updated to match the retrofuturistic setting of Area 99. If you have visited the underground bunker city in Black Ops: Cold War, then you can imagine it something like this. Or you can watch the trailer:
Nuketown is coming to both the standard 6v6 multiplayer and the strike variant for 2v2.
New mode: Infected
You can test the Black Ops-style Infected mode right now. One player is randomly assigned to be the undead, and each opponent they kill is added to their team. The goal for the other team is, of course, not to be killed for as long as possible.
Is that all? No, don’t worry
Activision is still reserving some innovations for a later date. For example, a ranked mode has already been promised for Season 1, and a new map is also planned for the zombie mode. Experience has also shown that new weapons await us in Season 1. However, the devs are still keeping quiet about all this. We’ll keep you posted as soon as that changes.
