From now on there’s more loot: Path of Exile 2 is currently working on many prominent criticisms and some of them are already live.
You probably had an exciting first weekend in Path of Exile 2, didn’t you? Now that the launch hype has died down a bit, the developers at Grinding Gear Games are taking your feedback to heart and making some improvements – especially the much-criticized amount of loot has been targeted.
In this article, you’ll learn what changes have already been implemented, what’s coming next, and, most importantly, how these adjustments will affect your gameplay.
The first major patch for Path of Exile 2
As the developers announced in a blog post, an update will be released shortly that addresses many of the biggest criticisms.
It’s mainly about smoother dodging, improved rewards and more convenience at checkpoints Some changes are already active, others are coming with an upcoming patch.
We have compiled all the important details from the official developer blog for you and created provisional patch notes for the upcoming update.
Already Live
- Rare Monsters and their Loot:
- Double the rarity bonus per rare mod
- +10% quantity bonus per rare mod
- Increased chance for more monster mods in the endgame
- Currency adjustments:
- Regal Orbs: approx. 40% higher drop rate
- Dismantling six-mod items: now yields 2 Regal shards instead of 1
- Jeweler’s Orbs: approx. 33% more frequent drop
- Chaos Orbs: slightly reduced drop rate
- Gemcutter’s Prisms: 500% more drops and now +5% instead of +1% quality
- Card Mods:
- Stronger prefix mods (e.g. rarity mods increased by 2.5 times)
- More chance of mods that increase loot quality and monster density
- Fewer useless mods, no more bottom tier
- Unlucky drop protection:
- Max. 50% of the drops from a unique boss can be gold
- Act and card bosses always drop at least one rare item
- Click-to-Move control:
- Move-Only button no longer results in unwanted attacks
Not yet live (will follow with an upcoming patch):
- Dodge Roll:
- Player hitbox when dodging reduced to zero
- Smaller monsters can be pushed away while dodging
- Checkpoints & Teleportation:
- Clicking on a checkpoint allows teleportation to other discovered checkpoints in the same area
- Additional checkpoints at strategic points, such as in the first Dreadnaught section
- Endgame & Map Customization:
- Rare monsters will now appear on the minimap when there are 200 monsters remaining
- More rare monsters in many maps to ensure the minimum number
- Fixes for maps where increased monster count mods don’t work properly will follow
These changes are just the beginning. If you played Path of Exile 1, you know that the development team will continue to take your feedback into account and make adjustments as needed. Just like the sequel, new leagues in PoE1 often started with numerous issues, but these were usually resolved within a few days.
